The Inclusive Child Care Program serves families of children from birth through 17 years of age who:
The "supplemental" child care subsidy: Most children with disabilities are in typical child care settings with little or no accommodation. However, some children do require extra supports for safe and appropriate care. These supports or accommodations may involve added costs to child care providers and parents. The Inclusive Child Care Program subsidy helps pay for extra supports in child care that are related to a childs special needs. The subsidy amount is different for each child. It is based on the childs individual needs in his or her specific child care setting. Here are some examples:
Do families pay for care? Yes, families pay the providers customary fees. The subsidy pays for those things that cannot reasonably be covered within the providers basic rates. Which families are eligible for the child care subsidy?
How are families referred to the program? Families can call the program coordinator directly. Child care providers, staff of community programs, or others who know the child and family can also contact the program about referrals. To make referral, or to obtain more information please contact: Terry Butler, Program Coordinator Lorine Day-Reynolds, Subsidy Coordinator Becky Majors-Thrash, Budgets & Contracts Coordinator
The Inclusive Child Care Program is a program of the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities in partnership with the Oregon Employment Department Child Care Division. The Child Care Division provides supports for the program through the federal Child Care and Development Fund. |
